A thousand years ago, the news that "Sui Fanli sacrificed herself to save the world at the Emerald Mountains" spread across the entire ocean.
Because the entity that nearly brought about the apocalypse for the sea races was the Lord of the Endless Ocean herself, a massive conflict erupted between the clans, the government, and the populace. Cries to "abolish religious belief" and "support materialism" grew loud. However, abolishing faith was equivalent to dragging the descendants of the Sea God down with it, something the clans would never allow. Thus, they concocted a grand lie about the "Punishment of the Ocean Lord," shifting the blame onto the sea races themselves.
The high-ranking sea races knew that because of the Crucible Project, every soul in the ocean had nearly been buried. They sent the Dictator to the guillotine on charges of "offending the gods" rather than "crimes against the sea races." All participants were imprisoned and sentenced to 450 years. Bukobalu used all his connections to pull the wool over everyone's eyes, allowing Ye Jia to escape the death penalty, though he was placed under a similar 450-year house arrest.
After the great disaster, once all urgent matters were settled, the stability between the clans and the government was restored, but the economy fell into a Great Depression.
The entire Light Sea struggled; people’s livelihoods were withered, and everything appeared so desolate that they yearned even more for the era of the Great Oracle Sui. Fanli’s friends missed her just as much—Feng Jin wept in his dreams every day, Xi Tian couldn't help but tear up during a public speech, and Ye Jia lived like a walking corpse... Yet, Su Shiye remained calm, never showing the slightest hint of sorrow.
As long as Fanli had not died before his eyes, he would not give up hope of bringing her back. He mobilized every distributable resource in the Empire, racing against time to find a way to save her. But as the years passed, the results were disappointing.
Su Shiye knew that the more time passed, the closer he drew to despair.
Finally, as a last resort, he went deep into the Temple of Memories and saw a source of light within the absolute darkness.
As the divine consciousness of the Ether Lord, he had sensed it long ago: this light source was the true form of the Ether Lord. He had always known what kind of power he would possess if he merged with that true form, but he also possessed self-awareness—he did not have the ability to overcome a god. If he merged with the Ether Lord, whether it was the life of "Xinghai" or "Su Shiye," it would be like a grain of sand falling into a desert, swallowed completely. Therefore, he had never considered merging with the source.
But now, pushed to this brink, he had to take the risk.
He stood in silence before the light source for a long time, then swam inside.
Thus, the slumbering Ether Lord awakened.
Surprisingly, the Ether Lord’s memories, spanning tens of billions of years, were not complex at all. To be precise, compared to many sea folk who grew up in filth and darkness, the Lord of the Endless Ocean and the Ether Lord were exceptionally wise yet simple.
This was especially true for the Ether Lord. He had always existed on high; all his memories were born in high-dimensional space, making his thoughts grand and profound. Aside from knowing the laws governing all things in the universe, all his "colored" memories were related to only one woman.
After the merger, Su Shiye deeply sensed that the Ether Lord loved that woman. Like him, the deity was hopelessly mired in thirty-seven billion years of memory, unable to extricate himself.
Many things that were previously incomprehensible now had answers.
However, having seen the answers to all his questions, Su Shiye was struck by a new doubt: Who was he, exactly? And who was it that he truly loved?
He had no time to ponder. Since he had been revived as the Ether Lord, he had to proceed with what needed to be done.
He returned to the waters above the Deep Sea Plain.
"Ether Lord, I knew you would return..." The crimson voice originating from the seabed rang out, sounding somewhat pleasantly surprised. "Eh? This time it’s not just a divine consciousness, but the true body?"
"Yes," Su Shiye said.
"How is it? Have you found that the game played by that wench Deep Blue isn't fun anymore? It’s only interesting if you play something big with me."
"Explain what you mean by 'something big.'"
"You only have Fel power in your body now. Do you even need to ask me what is most interesting to us?"
Arcane meant creation; Fel meant consumption. Hearing this, Su Shiye’s calm voice finally betrayed a slight ripple of anticipation. "How interesting can you make it? Let’s hear it."
"Is four hundred million years of Earth's civilization enough for you to play with?"
Su Shiye chuckled twice but said nothing more, simply charging toward the upper reaches of the sea.
"Hey, hey, hey! Why are you running away again?" Crimson shouted irritably. "If you're not satisfied, we can negotiate! Is it fun to do this every single time..."
But a few minutes later, a light of Fel energy, entwined in red and black, descended from above. Like a veil, it slowly spread over the Deep Sea Plain, merging with it. Subsequently, the tectonic plates of the ocean floor shook violently, the surface cracked rapidly, and hydrothermal vents erupted in mass, spewing black smoke and crimson light.
At that moment, the sun had just set on land, and the first thin veil of night wrapped around the earth and the sea level. Because of the movement on the ocean floor, large swaths of volcanoes were triggered into vibration. Within a mere few dozen seconds, like coral during a full moon, they collectively erupted with flames hundreds of meters high! Then, lava flowed onto the islands and into the seawater with a roar, like the rising tide.
Su Shiye hovered above the volcanic island, watching it all with cold detachment. His snow-white hair and cheeks were soon dyed red by the firelight, and the flowing air whipped his clothes into a frenzy.
Behind the largest volcano, a pair of burning hands, five kilometers wide, reached out and climbed to the summit. Then, a red giant, taller than the mountain itself and wreathed in raging flames, pushed himself up and leaned against the mountain range. He lay across the volcano, yet he was larger than the volcano itself. He looked like a flayed human, his body covered in crimson muscular textures. His eyes were two massive pits of light that spat fire; his fingers were golden-red, like burning gas, dropping massive stones and lava whenever they moved, sending dust flying everywhere. He had no hair on his head, only a roaring fire emitting black smoke. Whenever he opened his mouth to speak, poisonous fumes billowed out...
"I am finally free!" Crimson, the Flame Lord, laughed wildly. "Forty billion years have passed, suppressed beneath the sea by that wench Deep Blue, and now I am finally free!!"
Despite Crimson’s prolonged madness, Su Shiye remained silent.
"Ether Lord, why aren't you speaking? Are you waiting to ask me for a reward? But let me tell you, I’ve been annoyed with both of you for a long time. Letting me out was definitely a very wro—" He intended to return to his incorporeal state, only to find himself shrinking rapidly. "—right decision... Why has my power been sealed?!"
"I’m afraid you’ll cause trouble. Lend me your incorporeal power first. Otherwise, go back to the deep sea."
"Since you won't let me go anyway, I can't get out," Crimson said, suppressing his temper. "Fine, you use it first."
"Listen well. I will let you manage the Thirty-Six Demon Gods. There will be no shortage of wars; you can kill to your heart's content. But you must follow my arrangements and have no ulterior motives. Otherwise, don't blame me for being merciless."
"Fine!" Crimson said, trying his best to maintain a good temper. "What do you want to do?"
"Just have you play a game with me."
"How do we play? Is destroying the world enough? Hahahaha..."
"It’s enough."
Crimson froze, his laughter dying away. "It seems you and that wench really have broken up? She spent so much effort building this sissy world; you’re actually willing to destroy it for her?"
"Get ready. In a thousand years, we will complete our plan." Su Shiye did not answer him directly, diving back into the sea.
That night, Su Shiye returned to high-dimensional space and reconsidered the feasibility of this thousand-year plan.
Looking across the 13.82 billion years of the universe's history, there were two types of major stellar explosions, and they existed at two extremes. One took only an instant; the other required an immense amount of time.
The first was a material explosion, such as the formation of a supernova—the phenomenon of a star reaching the end of its evolution. If the sun became a supernova, the entire solar system would be reduced to ashes.
Aside from the initial Big Bang, during the four billion years he had stayed in the Milky Way, the Ether Lord had observed countless supernova explosions. Every time such a violent explosion occurred, the star could be seen radiating shockwaves in all directions, forming cosmic rays that bloomed as a lonely, brilliant light against the pitch-black, infinite curtain. Finally, the star would burn out, ending its long life.
The second type of stellar explosion was the inheritance of information. To discover such an explosion from another planet would take billions of years. It was faint and small, progressing step by step, turning from 2 to 4, 4 to 8, 8 to 16, 16 to 32, 32 to 64... After the Lord of the Endless Ocean gave life to the sea, from the birth of the first bacterium without even a nerve, to the sea races using the wisdom generated by their consciousness to create governments and clans, militaries and organizations, corporations and churches... as well as giant transmitters, gunships, uranium bombs, arcanum, and technology... No one knew what the result of this explosion would be. Perhaps it would lead to destruction, or perhaps it would continue to repeat the inheritance of information, eventually bringing these information explosions into space to continue igniting other galaxies.
The alternative name for this type of explosion was "biological evolution."
The Big Bang gave birth to the Lord of the Endless Ocean; she possessed the consciousness of "Sui" because of the information explosion. Now, Sui was about to be swallowed by her true form. If a third explosion occurred, there was a certain probability that her self-awareness could be awakened even from her long slumber.
To put it in more poetic terms: Deep Blue’s maternal love for the ocean could allow her to wake up amidst the threat of a crisis.
Su Shiye lacked the Arcane power of creation, but now he possessed Crimson’s incorporeal power. He could entirely manufacture a simulated supernova explosion.
Thus, the prototype for the "Dream Agate" plan was born.
If the plan failed and Deep Blue did not return, it was simple. He would blow up the Earth, toss the dead planet to Crimson, and let Crimson create his ideal world of a new sea of fire.
If the plan succeeded and Deep Blue returned, he would simply help her defeat Crimson once more and help her build a new blue planet.
He also considered one thing: Deep Blue’s true form was very repulsed by Sui. If Sui were abandoned by her again, she would vanish just like all the other sea folk.
This didn't seem like a major issue. A Deep Blue who had lost Sui would, at most, dislike staying in low-dimensional space. In that case, he would take her to stay in high-dimensional space, where they could continue to be together just as they had for the past four billion years. Sui was merely one-eighth of her; the remaining seven-eighths would still be there.
Having reasoned this out, Su Shiye initiated the "Dream Agate" plan. The engineers concluded that the Winter Sea was the best location to place the Dream Agate. Since he had plenty of time, he simply conquered the Light Sea.
And so, 990 years passed.
As a Pillar God, after Fanli merged into Deep Blue, she would slowly be consumed. The estimated time for this consumption was exactly one thousand years. One night during this year, he suddenly realized that in ten more years, Sui would completely disappear—if Deep Blue did not reject Sui, there was no need to lose that one-eighth.
Would Sui’s return affect his decision?
Impossible.
Because whenever he looked out at the magnificent scenery of Bamanboya from the Endless Palace, he would always think: what meaning was there to an ocean without Deep Blue? It was nothing more than a boring game in a low-dimensional world. If it weren't for Deep Blue’s fondness for it, he would have lost patience with this world long ago.
So, he activated the "Dream Agate."
Ten years later, the Dream Agate would explode.
In the Dream Palace, Su Shiye and Crimson were excitedly discussing their future plans, never expecting that the pressure brought by the Dream Agate in the sea would be so threatening that Fanli would actually return early.
Fanli stood gracefully below the steps. In this hallucinogenic Fel palace, she was a blooming narcissus, more beautiful than the stars in the sky. Her waist-length, rose-colored curls were still wet, as were her sea-blue eyes. Those familiar, deep eyes looked toward him, striking the deepest part of his heart.
In that moment of mutual gazing, Su Shiye knew he had seemingly committed a colossal mistake. However, possessing his complete memories, he was even better at hiding his emotions than before. He showed no sign of anything being amiss.
He made Fanli wait for seven hours, spending that time in solitary reflection.
Combining the experiences of Su Shiye and the Ether Lord, he understood what many had failed to grasp: Why was Fanli so selfless when she was the symbol of Deep Blue’s "selfishness"?
It turned out that just like "love" and "hate," or "joy" and "sorrow," "selfishness" and "selflessness" were polar opposites—complementary concepts. A mother’s selfishness often leads to selflessness toward her child; an emperor’s selfishness often leads to selflessness toward his empire; the selfishness of the Ocean’s Creator often leads to selflessness toward the children of the sea...
In other words, selflessness and selfishness were like a person and their shadow under the sun; neither could exist independently of the other. If "selfishness" were to completely vanish, a person would not become all-loving; rather, they would become devoid of all desire.
Deep Blue felt too much guilt over the mass extinctions, so she completely obliterated her "human" side, using every method to suppress her other, unspeakable private desire.
The true explanation for the "Holy Infant of the Fire Sea" curse was this: as long as this child drew close to the Ether Lord, her life would be whittled away. The Ether Lord had sensed this 330 million years ago.
It turned out that Deep Blue had always loved manifesting in physical form not just because she enjoyed the unique perspective of the low-dimensional world. More importantly, it allowed her to be in close contact with the one she loved.
The root of love is desire. Desire is the root of sin.
A god should not, and must not, lower their status to be manipulated by desire.
Upon discovering this unspeakable secret, Deep Blue completed the most ruthless self-exile, not even sparing that tiny bit of selfishness.
But even gods are not omnipotent.
Her obsession with the Ether Lord was so powerful that as long as he remained within this ocean, she could never be suppressed. Therefore, as long as his divine consciousness and physical form existed in the Light Sea world, the Seven Pillar Gods could not seal her.
To prevent Sui from disappearing, he could only choose to avoid her and enter an indefinite slumber.
Unless one day he returned and his divine consciousness descended into the sea again, the Mise Clan could maintain the frequency of suppressing the "Holy Infant of the Fire Sea" once every hundred thousand years.
Before sleeping, the Ether Lord created a new physical body for himself and placed it on an altar in the deep sea, hoping to one day encounter Sui. At the same time, he left behind a sliver of divine consciousness, a final thread of hope.
This consciousness drifted through 330 million years like a lifeless feather, only to be unexpectedly seized by General Xinghui on the battlefield, becoming an accidental product of the union between the General and his wife.
Sure enough, even if only the Ether Lord’s divine consciousness was activated, Sui’s soul would feel a powerful resonance, and the Clan’s strength could not suppress her at all.
Coincidentally, another hundred thousand years were due in seven years, and Sui awakened.
Even more coincidentally, nineteen years later, the Mise Clan sent Sui to General Xinghui’s home.
Everything seemed like destiny, as if something in the dark was linking their fates together.
They had the most beautiful childhood and teenage years. However, this could not change Deep Blue’s curse. Only during the four hundred-plus years when Fanli and Su Shiye were separated by the Light and Dark Seas did her health improve. But as soon as she reached the Abyssal Empire, she quickly collapsed.
Fanli had known long ago that she would die because she was a part of Deep Blue; she knew what Deep Blue was thinking and understood the changes in her own body. Yet, she insisted on staying by the side of the one she loved, in whatever way she could, even if she would die at the age of seven hundred.
Once Fanli died and Deep Blue was resurrected, she would become a god completely devoid of emotion, continuing her plan to remake the world.
Thinking of this scene made Su Shiye find it difficult to breathe.
Outside the Dream Palace, he had told Fanli that compared to his lifespan, Su Shiye’s life was too short. So short it was like a drop of rain falling into the ocean, unable to affect him.
To the infinite lifespan of the Ether Lord, Su Shiye’s memories were indeed too short—shorter than a blink.
However, in the long, void, gray memories of the Ether Lord, Su Shiye’s life was the only color.
He had truly made a massive mistake.
Everything he had done was not to obtain the "Lord of the Endless Ocean." The person he loved had always been the girl waiting quietly for him outside.
He only wanted this cursed, faint soul to survive. He didn't care in what form she existed—whether as the ruler of the ocean, the cute little sister Lili, or the Great Oracle Sui. He knew that she had never changed; she was always fragile because she loved him, and strong because she loved him; timid because she loved him, and brave because she loved him.
And this time, Sui had indeed been abandoned by Deep Blue. She was no longer Deep Blue; she would not have the ability to protect herself in the explosion. Even if he took her into space, she wouldn't survive; even if she did, it would be a life worse than death. Therefore, someone had to forcibly terminate the explosion after she woke up. But starting the "Dream Agate" required such immense energy—who had the capability to stop it?
He was the Ether Lord; he could make the time of the entire "Dream Agate" flow backward to before its activation. But in the divine laws of creation, the Ether Lord could only travel through different space-times in an incorporeal state and could not intervene in the low-dimensional world. If he forcibly used Etheric power to change the space-time state of low-dimensional matter, his true body would be swallowed by the chaotic space-time.
This meant he would vanish from the universe.
That night, after taking Fanli’s call, Su Shiye did not sleep.
From the next day onward, he entered a period of day-and-night busyness, appointing an heir, preparing for the transfer of the throne, writing long letters of political analysis to his two children, and reassigning tasks and duties to veteran officials like Huange, Qiusha, and Aize.
Once the official business was finished, he contacted Yu Jin.
He knew Yu Jin liked Fanli and was a reliable man who could give her a stable life. Fanli likely wouldn't fall in love with someone else for a while, but as long as she didn't know the whole truth, and as long as he did things that crossed her bottom line, she would eventually move on after he disappeared, no matter how sad she was.
Conversely, she must not know everything. If she did, to say nothing of the pain, there was no telling what foolish things she might do. Therefore, even if it was cruel to deny her the right to know, he felt there was absolutely no need to tell her.
Su Shiye didn't mind telling Yu Jin everything, but for one, their story was too long and he no longer had the time to recount it all; for another, Yu Jin was a young man after all, with his own temper and jealousy. It was better not to let Yu Jin know too much.
For the sake of Fanli’s future happiness, the best conclusion to this story was to never let anyone else know.
In the long river of this vast universe's history, he had long grown used to being alone. Keeping a secret for 430 million years was not a difficult task for him.
After everything was handled, it was very late. Su Shiye was exhausted in body and mind, yet he still felt no sleepiness. He lay on the bed, his golden eyes devoid of joy, sorrow, or anger—devoid of everything.
There was no possibility for them anymore.
Never again.
Su Shiye turned over, his handsome brow furrowing slightly as he told himself to stop thinking. But whether his eyes were open or closed, she was always there. Her tenderness, her beauty, her capriciousness, her playfulness, her adoration... all of these would belong to another man in the future.
He covered his eyes with the back of his hand. But it was useless.
When everything fell into darkness, she was still there.
He decided to see her one last time.
In the early hours of the morning, while Fanli was asleep, Su Shiye kept watch by her bedside, silently watching the clock tick away the minutes and seconds, remembering many things from the past.
Fanli had liked him since she was a child, following him around like a shadow for no reason. Even though he treated her with a cold face year-round, she was never discouraged.
He remembered one time when she tugged on his sleeve and said, "Brother, Brother! Today I went for a walk in Erguo Lingge with Mom and Dad, and I found a sea race that is so interesting! Their tails are all bright orange, and the males are so fussy. Every March, they clean their houses perfectly just to attract the beauties of their race. And those beauties are picky enough; they’ll choose one out of fifteen males to have babies with. But their only criterion has nothing to do with whether the garden is pretty or the male is handsome—it’s whether other females have had babies with them before. And the males are even funnier; once the females have the babies, the males kick them out and raise the kids themselves. Don't you think it's amazing?"
"Is this the legendary non-virgin complex and stay-at-home dad?"
"Huh? What's a non-virgin?"
"Cough, nothing."
"When will we finally grow up..." At this point, little Fanli cupped her face, wagging her short little tail and smiling sweetly. "I really want to go out and see more, taste food from different seas, learn about different cultures, and make friends from all over... I have so, so much I want to know! Anyway, anyway, Brother, don't you think our world is really interesting?"
...
"You’re right, this world is very interesting."
This was the first sentence Su Shiye said inside the eternal iceberg, though she couldn't hear it.
This world is good. Your protection of it was right; your willingness to sacrifice for it was right. It was I who was selfish. I always wanted to use ways you didn't want to keep you alive.
There was nothing wrong with your life; the only mistake was my intrusion.
Lili, this is my last act of self-righteousness.
Before this, Su Shiye never imagined he would have the chance to see Fanli one more time.
Right here, beneath the glaciers of the Winter Sea, at the very moment his life was ending. To him, this was already an unexpected windfall. Because of it, death became exceptionally peaceful.
His consciousness was frozen in the deep sea, surrounded by nothing but endless blue water. Fanli pounded on the ice, but his heart was as still as water, as if the person about to dissipate wasn't him. He gazed at her through the cold, indifferent ice, seeing his beautiful Lili grieving for him, and felt a kind of sorrowful joy.
His hair rose and fell with the waves as he revealed a smile.
At this moment, he had nothing left—no power, no status, no ambition, no life. Instead, he was just like he had been when they reunited at Luoya University, possessing only a desperate love soaked in the deep sea.
Though he couldn't hear her voice, before him, this woman—the smartest in the entire ocean—always saw her brain capacity shrink to the size of a walnut, saying nothing but those same foolish things over and over. He knew her too well.
Seeing her in such pain, he opened his mouth, wanting to say "Be happy." But he felt that sentence was too tender; it would make her feel he still loved her.
He must not let her know his heart, or everything he had done would be in vain. Better to be a bit colder.
But after a long while, though he made no move, he couldn't help but reveal a tender smile once more.
Between them, a very, very long story had unfolded.
What should have been said and what shouldn't have been said, they had said it all.
What should have been done and what shouldn't have been done, they had done it all.
They knew each other so well that, in truth, even without his disguise during this final period, no further expression was needed. The ending of loving each other but being unable to be together would not change. Thus, saying words like "I hope you are happy" was better left as a silent wish in his heart. Rather than wasting his strength to speak, it was better to enjoy these final moments and look at her for a few seconds more.
His Lili was right in front of him, accompanying him on his final journey.
This life was very long—long enough that he had done everything except grow old with her.
This life was very short—short enough that there were barely any afternoons where they could just sit quietly and embrace.
Was there anything left to fight for? No.
Were there any regrets?
He pressed his hand against the ice, watching her, eyes red, press her hand to the same spot. There was only the cold, hard sensation, a stinging pain striking his heart. Yet, she was so close to him.
Yes, there was a regret...
He still owed her a wedding.
But the beauty of a low-dimensional life perhaps lies in the fact that there are always flaws, that it isn't perfect. To draw the period here was fine.
Deep Blue, thank you for your selfishness.
Sui, thank you for your persistence.
Lili, thank you for your 430 million years.
Su Shiye rarely read delicate, sentimental literature. But at the very end, he suddenly thought of a certain night in Bamanboya when he and Fanli had argued over some trivial matter.
That night, he was lying at the head of the bed reading an imperial economic report, while Fanli curled in his arms, reading a collection of prose titled *Ripples of the Starry Sea* by the sea race troubadour Yasha. Finally, moved by the book, she memorized her favorite passage and said softly, "Brother, isn't it beautiful? Our love has also borne fruit."
"I flipped through your book just now and saw this page. I knew you'd like this part."
"Ah? Why?"
"Aside from academic books, you only like literature that is sissy from the poet's name to the words themselves. It looks like it has some style, but it's actually hollow, without any practical meaning. It’s because this kind of pretentious literature is so popular in the Light Sea that the economy can never get off the ground."
"It’s one thing to attack the Light Sea’s economy, but how can you attack the poet’s name too?"
"He chose that name himself. For a man to play around with wind, flowers, and the moon like this—isn't that sissy enough?"
"That’s because he has delicate emotions! You, a hegemonic warmonger, not only attack him but also engage in gender discrimination! Yasha was very pitiful. He was born into wealth but his family fell into ruin. He lived a life of hunger and cold from a young age and died of illness at eighty-seven. Before he died, he was separated from his wife, and he wrote this prose at the end. His wife cried until she went blind and never remarried. Neither of them left any descendants; it’s just too tragic... No, I can't take it. Just talking about it and reading this passage makes me want to cry." By the end, Fanli was rubbing her eyes.
"Marrying so early, marrying when he had no money to support a wife—causing his wife to have no hope in life and never remarry—that was probably the cause and punishment for his early death."
"You heartless man! To slander the great talent of our Light Sea’s classical literary history like this! I’m ignoring you!"
"Isn't it the truth? Why should a man get married if he has no money?"
"Can't people get married if they have no money? If the wife is willing, can't they marry for love!"
"Can love put food on the table?"
"Now you’re looking down on love? When you were chasing me, why were you talking about love every single day? You think you’re so great just because you have money and power? I don't lack those things either! If it weren't for love, who would marry you, huh? And then I married you only to find I’d been swindled. You aren't tender at all; you’re just a cold, stinky man..."
"You’ve already married me; it’s too late for regrets. Accept reality and go back to your book."
"I’ve never regretted it, but you need to change your thinking. Yasha’s writing is very beautiful; you have to learn to appreciate it."
"Sissy."
"Su Shiye!!!"
Su Shiye still remembered how Fanli had nudged him with her elbow and given him a massive eye-roll, as if saying "I really have no common language with a tyrant." He had pulled her into his arms, wanting to kiss her, but she dodged him and glared at him a few more times. Clearly, she was being difficult again.
She was so cute like that; he liked it. What he least wanted to see was her as she was now, weeping against the ice wall.
But in the end, the one who was right was you, my Lili.
The prose is indeed beautiful, very suitable to serve as the love letter I give you in this final moment. Unfortunately, I don't have Yasha’s literary talent; I cannot write words that would move a wife so.
*"I am reborn, lighting my memories into the flames of parting sorrow, burning the lonely lamp of the Ether Lord’s flowing light, gazing up at the reflection of the Lord of the Endless Ocean.*
*My respected, my lovely beloved, at the end of the ocean where fireworks hunt, in the courtship of the desert toward the forest, have you received the first drop of dew in the dawn that I sent to you?*
*The leaf of my heart accidentally fell into the web of love you wove, blooming into flowers step by step over four billion years.*
*The flowers bloomed more and more vigorously, never withering for a single second. Finally, in this one tiny instant, they have borne fruit."*
—Yasha, *Ripples of the Starry Sea*
