Welcome to Novela.app! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our platform where users can write, share, and discover webnovels and novels (the “Service”). By using our Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who May Use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use Novela.app. If you are under 18, you must have your parent’s or guardian’s permission.
2. Your Account
You need an account to use some features of the Service. You are responsible for your account and all activity on it. Keep your password confidential.
3. Your Content and Ownership
a. Content Ownership
You retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in your webnovels, stories, and any other content you create and upload (“Content”).
b. Non-Exclusive License to Novela.app
By uploading Content, you grant Novela.app a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, distribute, and promote your Content on and through the Service for the purpose of operating and promoting Novela.app.
You can remove your Content at any time. This license will end when you remove your Content, except where copies have been shared, used, or stored by other users under these Terms.
4. Ad Revenue Sharing
a. Revenue Split
If your Content generates advertising revenue, you will receive 70% of the net ad revenue attributable to your Content, and Novela.app will retain 30%. “Net ad revenue” means revenue actually received by Novela.app from ads shown in connection with your Content, minus any applicable taxes, fees, or third-party costs.
b. Payments
We will use commercially reasonable efforts to pay your share within 30 days after the end of each calendar month in which the revenue was earned, provided your balance meets the minimum payout threshold. You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings.
5. Content Guidelines and Community Rules
You agree not to post Content that:
- Infringes copyright or other rights of others,
- Is unlawful, harmful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable,
- Contains viruses or malicious code,
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations.
Novela.app may remove or restrict Content or accounts that violate these rules or are otherwise harmful to the community or platform.
6. Copyright Protection and DMCA Policy
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without authorization, you can file a notice as outlined in our [Copyright Policy/DMCA Notice page]. (Note: Consider creating this page or linking to a placeholder/contact).
7. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may change these Terms or the Service at any time. We’ll notify you of material changes, and your continued use of the Service means you accept the new Terms.
8. Account Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, our policies, or for any reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your Content may be deleted from our servers.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Novela.app is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or Content.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless otherwise required by law.
