Chapter 31 - The Demon King’s Domesticity and the Sealing Gum
“Tang, open your mouth. Say *ah—*”
The Demon King, Toyosuki-iri-hime-no-mikoto, held a small porcelain bowl with a gravity that suggested she was performing a sacred ritual rather than merely feeding a captive. Her silver eyes were fixed on Que Tang with an intensity that made the simple act of eating feel like an interrogation.
Que Tang opened her mouth, her face burning with a shame so profound it felt like it might leave a physical mark. It wasn't that she enjoyed being pampered like a flightless fledgling; rather, ever since that fateful day at the ruins, she had been confined to this small wooden cabin. Toyosuki had bound her with ribbons of shimmering white light, a restrictive seal so potent that Que Tang couldn't even wiggle a finger.
Thus began her life of "shameful bliss." She was a woman who now had tea brought to her lips and food placed in her mouth. She was bathed without lifting a hand and held fast in a naked embrace every night. It was a lifestyle that would have been the envy of any decadent aristocrat, yet for Que Tang, it was a daily exercise in losing her dignity.
Staring into those ethereal silver eyes, Que Tang managed to find her voice, though it sounded strained. “Inuhime-no-mikoto... could you... perhaps change back to Himiko’s appearance? Or at least change your eye color back?”
Toyosuki blinked, and in a heartbeat, the silver faded into the familiar, softer gaze of the shrine maiden, Himiko. “Does Tang prefer sleeping with the priestess?” she asked softly.
“That—that is a highly suggestive way of putting it!” Que Tang screamed internally. If she could move, she would have prostrated herself instantly to beg for mercy. Instead, she forced a calm tone. “No, it’s just... I’m not quite used to the silver eyes yet.”
The Demon King’s personality was an unexpected hurdle—she was a "natural airhead" of the highest caliber. Between the thousand-year-old sovereign, the disciplined shrine maiden, and the wickedly charismatic "Inner Himiko," Que Tang felt like she was dealing with a triple-threat of psychological complexity.
The only silver lining in this cloud of captivity was that whether it was the ancient Demon King or the secluded priestess, none of Toyosuki’s personas seemed to have any concept of what happened "below the neck." To them, intimacy consisted of hugging, kissing, and sleeping skin-to-skin. For this, Que Tang was profoundly grateful; her chastity, at least, remained technically intact.
Once Toyosuki reverted to her Himiko form, her *Yamato Nadeshiko* persona seemed to take over. After finishing the feeding, she leaned in, tenderly kissing away a stray grain of rice from the corner of Que Tang’s mouth. Then, with effortless strength, she scooped the ninja up and carried her to the outdoor hot spring.
The steam rose in lazy curls against the backdrop of the mountain forest. Toyosuki methodically removed their clothing and stepped into the mineral-rich waters, picking up a bar of soap to begin Que Tang’s bath. After several days of this, Que Tang had reached a state of Zen-like numbness. She could now remain expressionless even as the Demon King’s hands wandered over every "unspeakable" inch of her body.
She had learned a bitter truth: time is the ultimate assassin. It can make even the most outrageous circumstances feel mundane. However, there was one part of the routine she could never truly accept.
“There, Tang is clean. Now,” Toyosuki said, her voice a flat, matter-of-fact melody, “it is Tang’s turn to wash me.”
This was the only time Que Tang was allowed to move—or rather, her hands were allowed to move, puppeted by Toyosuki’s magic. Que Tang watched in silent horror as her own right hand, acting against her will, picked up the soap and began to glide over Toyosuki’s skin. The Demon King’s body was more curvaceous and delicate than her own, her skin like polished silk. As Que Tang’s hand moved from the neck down to the "forbidden zones," Toyosuki would occasionally lean against her, letting out soft, ticklish gasps that made Que Tang’s soul want to leave her body.
Que Tang had tried to protest, suggesting that Toyosuki was perfectly capable of washing herself. The Demon King had simply replied with terrifying majesty: “Tang’s body and soul have already been offered to me. Naturally, you must serve.”
Que Tang could almost see her "integrity" rotting away like fallen fruit in the small field behind the cabin.
Once the agonizing bath was over, Toyosuki didn't even bother with clothes. She carried Que Tang back to the cabin and tucked her into a pink, frilly "Princess Bed" that looked absurdly out of place in this world.
“Little Mushroom, get your furry butt out here,” Que Tang hissed into the silence of the room, staring at the thatched ceiling.
“Meow~ Is the Host enjoying her *lovey-dovey* life with the Female Supporting Character? How may Little Mushroom serve you?” The black cat appeared in a puff of smoke, looking entirely too smug.
“It was okay today... wait, no! It’s a nightmare! Tell me, when can I finish this mission and leave this world?”
“Oh? I thought the Host was living a life of *happily ever after* and didn't want to leave,” the cat purred, licking a paw. “That’s why I’ve been stalling the Hero, making sure they take their sweet time finding the ultimate weapon to seal the Demon King. I’m such a thoughtful guide, aren't I? Meow~”
Que Tang’s blood boiled. “Who is living happily? You better get that Hero over here tomorrow to end this, or when we get back, you are dead meat!”
“Meow-wu... fine,” Little Mushroom said with a dramatic sigh. “If the Host is truly certain she wants to end the *lovey-dovey* fun...”
“One hundred percent, organic, non-GMO certain!”
The next day, Que Tang was in an uncharacteristically good mood, even engaging Toyosuki in conversation. Seeing the ninja’s bright expression, the Demon King smiled—a genuine, radiant smile—for the first time in a millennium.
Que Tang was momentarily stunned. “Inuhime, you’re actually very cute when you smile.”
Toyosuki tilted her head, her eyes shimmering. “Does Tang like it when I smile?” She beamed even wider.
“Stop... don’t smile anymore,” Que Tang muttered, feeling her heart flutter dangerously. Was her integrity really gone? Had it truly rotted away in that field?
As the day dragged on, Que Tang’s cheer faded into suspicion. Had that damn cat lied again? By sunset, she had reverted to her "dead fish" expression. But just as they were heading for the evening bath, Toyosuki suddenly froze. Her eyes snapped to silver, and an aura of absolute authority exploded from her.
“They are here,” she said coldly. “I gave them a chance to live. Since they choose to seek death, I shall not show mercy again.”
She set Que Tang down and waved her hand, dissolving the white light bindings. “Tang, I will teleport you to a safe zone. Do not worry; I will protect you.”
Despite the lack of emotion in her voice, the sincerity in Toyosuki’s eyes was undeniable. For the first time, Que Tang acted on impulse. She reached out and grabbed the Demon King’s hand. “No, I’m not leaving. I’m a ninja; I can protect myself. Besides... I want to stand by your side.” (Mostly because the mission couldn't end if she wasn't there.)
Toyosuki stared at their joined hands, her silver eyes glowing with a renewed, fierce light.
“Demon King! Release Tang at once!” Hinata Aotian shouted, bursting into the clearing. He was still in his high school uniform, brandishing a massive claymore.
Toyosuki looked at the Hero and the mob of villagers behind him with icy disdain. “Ignorant fools. Do you truly believe such meager strength can defeat me? You are being used, outlander. This path leads only to your destruction. Leave now, or face your punishment.”
Hinata Aotian stood tall, his headband fluttering in the wind. “I won't back down! I came to this world to defeat you and save everyone from your tyranny! And I’m saving Tang and Himiko too!”
“Then you have chosen death,” Toyosuki declared. She rose into the air, her Summoning Banner appearing in her hand. With a violent sweep, she summoned a barrage of howling tornadoes.
“Take cover!” Aotian yelled. “Use the weapons!”
Que Tang watched from the sidelines, iron rod in hand, waiting for the "ultimate weapons" to appear. When they did, her jaw dropped.
“Matcha dango? Red bean mochi?”
The villagers were hurling traditional Japanese sweets. As a string of dango struck the Demon King, she actually let out a cry of genuine distress.
“S-Sweets! My only weakness!” Toyosuki’s eyes actually welled with tears. “If I eat sugar... I’ll get cavities... and if I get cavities, I have to see the doctor...” Terrified by the prospect of dental work, the Demon King began to lash out wildly with her banner.
Que Tang facepalmed. *Can this author write a serious fight for once?*
Amidst the chaos of tornadoes and flying pastries, Hinata Aotian signaled the villagers. “Cover me! I’m using the secret item!”
He pulled a small, foil-wrapped square from his pocket with the solemnity of a man handling a nuclear trigger. He unwrapped it and popped it into his mouth. “It’s all up to you now... Sealing Chewing Gum!”
He chewed furiously as he sprinted through the storm. Reaching the closest possible range, he took a deep breath and spat the wad of gum toward the Demon King with all his might.
Just as the gum was about to hit Toyosuki, a blur of black and blue intercepted it. Que Tang had leaped in front of the Demon King, taking the hit.
“TANG!” both the Hero and the Demon King screamed in unison.
The "Sealing Chewing Gum" worked instantly. Que Tang was petrified, her body turning into a cold, grey stone statue mid-air.
Sensing that Que Tang’s soul had departed this plane, Toyosuki’s grief turned into a cataclysmic rage. Her silver eyes burned like dying stars.
“Something darker than twilight, something redder than blood!” she chanted, her voice echoing with world-ending power. “In the flow of time, I call upon the darkness! Let all that stands before me, all that is foolish and arrogant, vanish from existence!”
A blinding white light consumed the world. When it faded, there were no humans left. Every villager, every soldier, and even the Hero had been transformed into mindless, bouncing slimes.
Toyosuki descended to the ground and gently embraced the stone statue of Que Tang. Tears fell from her expressionless face, darkening the stone. Suddenly, she looked up at the sky. “Who are you?”
Little Mushroom descended from the clouds. “Meow~” The cat landed on her shoulder and pressed its forehead against hers.
Toyosuki closed her eyes, absorbing the truth of the "System." Finally, she looked at the statue one last time. “I see. This world no longer needs me. I will give my soul to you.”
Her body dissolved into a brilliant shard of light, flying into the cat’s waiting paws.
